Homer Tedder, Director of Technical Services for the Card Application Technology Center (C.A.T.C.) at Florida State University, has been named the recipient of the 2003 NACCU-PERSONA Professional Development Award.

Tedder has been employed by FSU for 25 years and has worked in the ID card applications development area since 1990. He has been involved in all aspects of ID card applications, including design, development, testing and implementation.

In addition, from1994 to date Tedder has assisted or coordinated the ID card integration/implementation strategies for over 125 institutions across the country.

“My tenure in the card industry has been most rewarding,” said Tedder, “and this award and acknowledgment of my past experiences is like adding icing to the cake. I’d like to thank the NACCU Board of Directors, the administration at Florida State University for its support, and Ms. Dianna Norwood for her continued efforts in making the FSUCard program a showcase to help others in the pursuit of their campus card programs. Also, a special thanks to Mr. Tor Baekkelund with the PERSONA group for their continued support of NACCU and for this personal recognition.”

Tedder will be presented the award at NACCU’s 10th Annual Conference in New Orleans on March 5-8, 2003. Along with a plaque to commemorate the award, Tedder will also receive one complimentary registration for NACCU’s 2004 Conference in San Antonio, Tex., as well as a one-year membership in NACCU.

NACCU, along with corporate member PERSONA, sponsors the Professional Development Award. It is given annually to an individual who actively participates in the research and development of card related technologies and has contributed, not only to a particular campus, but also to the card services industry as a whole. Nominees must be active members of the National Association of Campus Card Users.
