Drexel University alumni can support their Dragons with new Drexel Credit Card from U.S. Bank

Andy Williams   ||   Jan 21, 2005  ||

Drexel University alumni, students, and others can show their support to the college every time they use a credit card offered through a university/U.S. Bank partnership. Each time a card is activated and each time it’s used, the university benefits.

MINNEAPOLIS & PHILADELPHIA–Drexel University has created a new affinity credit card partnership with U.S. Bank that benefits Drexel University each time a new card is activated, and again each and every time that card is used.

“The new Drexel University credit card from U.S. Bank offers students, alumni and employees an opportunity to support the university’s programs and initiatives,” said Drexel University president Constantine Papadakis. “By using the card, the extended Drexel community can show off its Drexel pride and at the same time benefit current students and the University.”

Students, alumni and employees, who carry the Drexel card, will have access to a variety of credit cards offered through this U.S. Bank partnership, including one that earns reward points that can be redeemed for gift certificates, merchandise, cash and travel rewards. Not only does the partnership improve Drexel University’s ability to offer members high-quality affinity credit products, but U.S. Bank has also stepped forward in a big financial way as a key corporate partner for the long haul.

“U.S. Bank is committed to the long-term development of campus facilities and scholarships and we look forward to the opportunities that exist by bringing together the expertise of our two organizations. It is our pleasure to provide valuable card products and services to the Drexel University community in support of its mission,” said Tanya Turner, senior vice president of affinity products at U.S. Bank.

The new cards are available through the Drexel University alumni website at www.drexel.edu.

Drexel is widely recognized for its focus on technology and cooperative education. The first major university to operate a fully wireless campus, Drexel is a leader in integrating technology into all aspects of its academic and research enterprise, which includes the largest private medical college and undergraduate engineering program in the nation. Drexel is ranked among the 2005 best national doctoral universities by U.S. News & World Report.

U.S. Bank is part of Minneapolis-based U.S. Bancorp (NYSE: USB). With $195 billion in assets, U.S. Bancorp is the 6th largest financial services holding company in the United States. The company operates 2,370 banking offices and 4,620 ATMs in 24 states, and provides a comprehensive line of banking, brokerage, insurance, investment, mortgage, trust and payment services products to consumers, businesses and institutions. U.S. Bancorp is home of the Five Star Service Guarantee in which the company pays customers if certain key banking benefits and services are not met. Visit U.S. Bancorp at usbank.com.
