A partnership between credential management systems provider, BadgePass, and Entrust Datacard will now enable BadgePass to provide its campus clients with the GX1 card printer.

The GX1, based on Entrust Datacard's CD800 line of card printers, is designed to maximize productivity and efficiency in campus card issuance. The unit combines fast print speeds with high resolution graphics, making it a great fit for a variety of applications, including state and local governments, corporate or higher education environments. When coupled with BadgePass Identity Manager software, the GX1 card printer enables secure and streamlined credential management.

“This new printer allows us to bring our customers best in breed ID badging systems," says Lindsay Martin-Nez, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at BadgePass. "We’ve designed our software to work seamlessly with this machine, bringing customers additional benefits like secure technology card enrollment during the print process and automatic card activation upon print for other applications like electronic door access.”

“Entrust Datacard is committed to innovative engineering in the access control industry,” adds Tony Ball, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Secure Access at Entrust Datacard. “Given BadgePass’ growth in the credential management space, we’re confident that our partnership will allow more customers to benefit from the combination of their unique software coupled with our world class printer platform.”

The BadgePass GX1 Card Printer can be configured to print single or dual sided card designs and offers magstripe, smart card and prox encoding capabilities. For more secure applications, campuses can leverage the printer's ability to add inline lamination or customized tactile impression features to student ID cards.
